Technical Description

The OKK SX-4000 Horizontal Machining Center is engineered for high-precision, heavy-duty machining with a 22-inch travel on both X and Y axes and 27 inches on the Z axis. It features a robust CAT-40 spindle taper capable of speeds up to 15,000 RPM, powered by a 50 hp motor delivering 184 ft-lbs of torque. The machine incorporates a 60-tool automatic tool changer, optimizing workflow efficiency and reducing downtime. Equipped with twin 15.75" x 15.75" pallets, it supports continuous production with rapid pallet indexing. The rigid T-shaped one-piece Meehanite cast iron bed and column provide excellent stability and thermal accuracy, enhanced by a ball screw cooling system and "Soft Scale" spindle head thermal compensation, ensuring dynamic machining precision. Its CNC control system, the Fanuc 31i-MB, offers advanced features such as rigid tapping, tool breakage detection, coordinate system rotation, and multiple work offsets. Additional attributes include high-pressure coolant delivery (1,000 PSI) through the spindle, dual coil chip conveyors, air dryer, and laser tool length measurement and part probing for automated setup. The machine presents rapid traverse rates up to 2,480 IPM and cutting feed rates of 1,575 IPM, supporting efficient material removal. Designed for demanding manufacturing environments, the OKK SX-4000 combines high-speed machining capabilities with precision and reliability for complex component production.
