The OKUMA & HOWA MILLAC-550H is a robust 4-axis horizontal machining center designed for high-precision and efficient machining. It features X, Y, and Z-axis travels of 31.5" (800 mm), 31.5" (800 mm), and 27.6" (700 mm) respectively, providing a substantial working envelope suitable for diverse machining applications. The machine is equipped with a powerful 40 HP AC spindle capable of speeds up to 10,000 RPM, with a CAT-50 or BT50 taper spindle nose supporting a wide range of tooling. The spindle delivers high torque and speed stability for precise material removal and finishing operations. This machining center incorporates a 60-tool carousel magazine, enabling extended unmanned operation with rapid tool changes averaging 5-6 seconds chip-to-chip, and supports tools weighing up to 40 lbs. The pallet system supports dual pallets of 21.65" x 21.65" (550 mm x 550 mm) size and can handle workpieces up to 1,764 lbs (approximately 800 kg), optimizing production efficiency.
