Technical Description
The ONSRUD F148HM Vertical Machining Center is a robust, high-performance 5-axis CNC machine designed for precision machining in aerospace, defense, automotive, and other fine-tolerance industries. It integrates a Fanuc 31i-B5 controller with a Windows-based PC interface, enabling advanced 5-axis simultaneous machining with high speed, accuracy, and quality. The system includes a Fanuc HMOP handheld remote jog pendant for ease of operation. This model features a twin table design allowing continuous machining by alternating between tables, improving productivity and flexibility through independent program execution on each table. Its large work envelope supports X travel up to 146", Y travel up to 244", and Z travel up to 41", with a 72" x 144" twin table size and up to 3,000 IPM machining speed. The machine employs spindle encoder feedback for rigid tapping, roller bearing linear motion on all axes for enhanced accuracy, and 5-axis laser volumetric compensation to maintain tool positioning precision. Additionally, it offers a high-pressure 400 PSI flood coolant system, an advanced chip removal system, automatic doors, and an automatic lubrication system for reliability and ease of maintenance. The electrical cabinets are air-conditioned, and the machine incorporates an isolation transformer for electrical stability. Tool management includes a 24-position automatic tool changer with HSK 63F spindle taper operating up to 24,000 RPM. The RF touch probe system with RMI-Q RF receiver supports setup optimization. Overall, the F148HM blends rigidity, advanced control, and large work volume for efficient, precise multi-axis machining.
