A+Technical Description
The Parr Instrument 6100 Static Smooth Drum Roller is a compact static-jacket calorimeter designed for precise measurement of the heat of combustion in solid or liquid fuels, waste materials, and other combustible samples. It features a 1108P removable oxygen vessel and oval bucket, supporting sample energy ranges from 52 to 12,000 calories depending on the vessel selected. The system operates at approximately room temperature using continuously compensated jacket calorimetry and employs a semi-automatic oxygen filling system with manual bucket fill and bomb washing. The device offers a high temperature resolution of 0.0001 ºC and a precision classification of 0.1–0.2%, ensuring accurate and repeatable results. This calorimeter enables fast testing with 4 to 7 tests per hour and an operator time of about 6 minutes per test. It has integrated digital hardware and software, including a high-precision electronic thermometer and a bright color touchscreen display for data entry and monitoring. Communication is facilitated via USB ports for balance and printer connections and TCP/IP ethernet for network integration, with removable memory cards for software updates and data storage. The entirety of sensors and controls are housed within a compact cabinet measuring 23 inches wide, 16 deep, and 17 high, suitable for laboratories with limited bench space. This model offers cost-effective performance with modern control technology without requiring active isoperibol temperature control, benefiting applications like coal testing, waste screening, and fuel analysis where rapid and reliable calorimetry is required.
