Technical Description
The SAKAI SW770 is a static smooth drum roller designed for efficient soil and base compaction in a range of construction applications. It features a 67-inch (1,700 mm) wide drum with a 51.2-inch (1,300 mm) diameter, providing a compaction width of 67 in (1,700 mm) and a drum shell thickness of 0.75 in (19 mm) for durability. The machine has an overall width of 73.2 in (5.6 ft), an overall length of 194.9 in (4,950 mm), and an overall height of 115.7 in (2,940 mm) with ROPS, on a 141.7 in (3,600 mm) wheelbase. It operates at a static frequency of 50 vpm, delivering consistent compaction performance. The SW770 is powered by an Isuzu 4JJ1XDIA (Tier 3) diesel engine, a water-cooled, 4-cycle, turbocharged inline-four engine, providing reliable power for continuous operation. Drive is hydrostatic, offering smooth, stepless speed control in both forward and reverse. The operating weight with ROPS is 23,810 lb (10,800 kg), with a front axle load of 11,465 lb (5,200 kg) and a rear axle load of 12,345 lb (5,600 kg), ensuring high ground pressure and excellent traction. The roller includes a rugged articulated center-pin joint, long-life rubber isolators for drum vibration damping, and a triple-protection filtered water spray system to prevent drum adhesion. It is equipped with full drum visibility, excellent curb and side clearance, and an emergency brake pedal for safety and operator comfort.
