Technical Description

The Scharmann ALPHA 1250S Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance CNC machine designed for demanding production environments. It features a robust table/work support system with a standard table size of 49.21" x 49.21" and an optional expanded size of 62.99" x 62.99", capable of supporting workpieces up to 16,500 lbs. Optional support index and rotary tables enhance versatility for complex machining tasks. The horizontal spindle offers an SK 50 taper as standard, with an HSK 100A option, and delivers up to 6,000 RPM (10,000 RPM optional) and 48 HP (60 HP optional) for efficient material removal. Tooling is managed by an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 40 tools, expandable to 400, and a chip-to-chip tool change time of 0 seconds. A standard pallet changer with 2 pallets (expandable to 4) ensures continuous operation. The machine provides 3-axis travel (expandable to 4-axis), with X, Y, and Z travels of 63" (79" optional), 63" (79" optional), and 51" (79" optional), respectively, and both A and B rotary axes for advanced positioning. Maximum feed and rapid traverse rates reach 1,181 ipm across all linear axes, supporting high-speed machining. This configuration makes the ALPHA 1250S ideal for heavy-duty, high-precision horizontal machining applications.
