The Schiess HORIMASTER 1-T is a robust horizontal machining center engineered for heavy-duty precision machining. It features a large square table measuring 70.87" x 70.87", with an optional enhancement up to 86.61" x 86.61", supporting workpieces up to 35,200 lbs. The machine is equipped with a powerful horizontal CAT 50 spindle, available in standard 3,000 RPM rotation or an optional 6,000 RPM for higher speed machining, delivering 70 HP (30-minute rating) ensuring substantial cutting power. Spindle tooling is managed via an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of one tool and an optional extension up to 160 tools, with tool change times of 30 seconds and chip-to-chip time of 45 seconds. The machine also offers optional pallet changers supporting two pallets for enhanced productivity. Its three-axis configuration provides travels of 39.37" in X, Y, and Z axes, each capable of rapid traverse rates up to 630 inches per minute, with options to extend travel in X to 118.11", Y to 78.74", and Z to 49.21". An optional fourth U axis, with a 180° rotation, can be added for advanced machining needs. Support for index and rotary tables is also available, broadening the machine’s versatility for complex workpieces and multi-faceted machining operations.
