Technical Description

The Schiess HORIMASTER 3-T Horizontal Machining Center is a robust, heavy-duty CNC machining system designed for large workpieces and demanding applications. It features a massive table size of 108.270" x 108.270" standard, expandable to 127.950" x 127.950", with a maximum load capacity of 88,000 lbs, accommodating extremely heavy and large parts. The machine’s horizontal spindle is CAT 50 taper, rated at 94 HP (30-minute rating) with a top speed of 2,000 RPM, upgradeable to 4,000 RPM for higher-speed machining. The spindle's horizontal orientation optimizes chip removal and tool access for heavy cutting operations. This machining center comes with a single automatic tool changer (ATC) by default, supporting 1 tool, with an optional magazine of up to 160 tools. Tool change times are 30 seconds standard and 45 seconds for chip-to-chip. Pallet changing capability is optional with up to 2 pallets, increasing workflow efficiency. The machine’s axis configuration includes 3 axes (X, Y, Z) with travel distances of 98.430" by 98.430" by 48.210" respectively, with optional extended travels up to 196.850" in X and Y, and 62.990" in Z. Rapid traverse speeds reach 984 inches per minute across axes.
