The Shibaura Machine Co. BMC-630 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance 3-axis horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty and precision machining. It features a large 24.8" x 24.8" table capable of supporting workpieces up to 2,640 lbs, with an optional rotary table for enhanced workholding flexibility. The horizontal spindle uses a standard BT50 taper, delivering a top speed of 5,000 RPM, with an optional upgrade to 10,000 RPM. It is powered by a 20 HP motor rated for 30-minute intervals, providing stable and powerful cutting capability suited for medium to large-sized workpieces. Tooling capacity includes a standard 38-position automatic tool changer (ATC) with an option to expand up to 90 tools, enabling extended machining cycles without stoppage. The machine comes equipped with a standard pallet changer system supporting two pallets, expandable to a maximum of ten, optimizing workflow and reducing downtime. Axis travels are 39.4" on X, 31.5" on Y, and 33.5" on Z, with rapid traverse rates up to 788 inches per minute, providing high-speed positioning and reduced cycle times. The machine supports stable and precise machining with a B-axis rotary table capable of full 365° rotation for complex contouring and angular work.
