Technical Description
The SIGMA FLEXI 7P-4AX Vertical Machining Center is a high-performance 4-axis CNC machine designed for precision machining of complex parts. It features a robust 33 kW motor spindle with a speed range up to 12,000 RPM, enabling heavy-duty cutting and high-speed operations. The machine includes two work tables that can operate separately or linked for handling long workpieces, with a combined table length of 2,075 mm and width of 730 mm, supporting a maximum table load of up to 2,500 kg when linked. Its axis travels include dual X-axes (1,500 mm each), a Y-axis transverse travel of 700 mm, and a vertical Z-axis travel of 950 mm, complemented by a swiveling B-axis head capable of ±110° rotation. Controlled via the HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 CNC system, it offers advanced contouring, adaptive feed control, collision monitoring, and integrated temperature compensation for enhanced precision. The machine’s dimensions are approximately 6.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 feet, with a substantial weight of 15,000 kg, reflecting its solid construction. Additional features include tool magazines with SK40 tapers, a 3D touch probe for quick setup, dual coolant circuits with high-pressure internal and external supplies, chip conveyors, and zero-point clamping systems. Developed by SIGMA with in-house spindle and head designs, this vertical machining center is suited for aerospace, automotive, and mold & die manufacturing, offering maximum precision, rigidity, and efficient tool change without interrupting cycles.
