The SMEC CO., LTD SL 2500SY is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center designed for high-precision turning operations. The spindle supports a bar diameter up to 2.680 inches and operates at a speed of up to 4,500 RPM, driven by a 15 HP motor. The machine is equipped with one main spindle and an additional sub spindle with 10 HP, enhancing productivity by enabling simultaneous work processes. The primary tool carrier is a turret type, supporting up to 12 turning tools as well as 12 rotary tools, though only one tool may perform cutting simultaneously.
