Technical Description

The Sugino H15 Horizontal Machining Center is a compact, rigid, and highly precise 3-axis machining module designed for milling, drilling, tapping, and boring small to medium-sized parts. It features a horizontal spindle with a BT30 taper capable of speeds up to 12,000 RPM standard and optionally up to 15,000 RPM, powered by a 3.0 HP motor with an optional 4.93 HP upgrade. The machining envelope includes travels of 11.81" (X), 13.78" (Y), and 13.78" (Z), each with a maximum feed rate of 394 inches per minute and rapid traverse speeds up to 2,122 inches per minute. The worktable measures 23.62" by 15.75", supporting workpieces up to 1,100 lbs, making it suitable for applications demanding high rigidity and load capacity. The machine incorporates an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 15 tools, expandable to 29, enabling efficient production with rapid tool change times of 1.0 second and chip-to-chip change in 3.0 seconds. No pallet changer or rotary table options are available, focusing on space-saving and optimized workflow for precision components, such as automotive and industrial parts. The H15’s compact design ensures efficient floor space utilization and energy savings, while coolant-through spindle capability allows effective cutting of aluminum, cast iron, and carbon steel materials. Its compact footprint and high-speed, high-rigidity performance make it ideal for high-quality mass production and detailed machining tasks in constrained spaces.
