Technical Description

The Sugino H9 Horizontal Machining Center is a compact, precision CNC machine designed for multi-axis milling and boring operations. This ultra-compact horizontal 3-axis machining module features a 19.690" × 11.810" work table capable of supporting workpieces up to 1,100 lbs and includes a standard index table for multi-face machining capabilities. The machine is equipped with a horizontal ISO 20 taper spindle, delivering 17,000 RPM at 3.00 HP (30-minute rating), with an optional upgrade to 20,000 RPM, making it suitable for both heavy-duty and high-speed cutting applications. The three linear axes provide X1, Y1, and Z1travel distances of up to 4.720", 4.720", and 7.870" respectively, with optional extended X-axis travel to 11.810". The machine utilizes an automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard capacity of 9 tools, expandable to 13 tools optionally, and achieves rapid tool change times of just 0.70 seconds for improved productivity. With maximum feed rates and rapid traverse speeds of 394 ipm and 1,179 ipm respectively across all axes, the H9 delivers exceptional performance for precision milling, boring, and deep hole drilling operations. Its compact footprint and high rigidity make it ideal for automated production environments where space efficiency and precision are critical.
