Technical Description

The TAKISAWA TA-25Y is a horizontal CNC turning center designed for precision machining of small to medium components. Equipped with a FANUC Series 18-T or Series i8T control unit, this machine delivers exceptional versatility through its dual-spindle configuration and integrated milling capabilities. The main spindle accommodates a 10-inch chuck with a maximum turning diameter of 10.2 inches and turning length of 20.8 inches, supporting bar stock up to 2.5 inches in diameter. Operating at 4,000 RPM with 20 HP (expandable to 25 HP), the spindle delivers consistent cutting performance across various materials. The machine features a 12-station turret capable of holding both turning and rotary tools, with an additional 5 HP rotary tool spindle running at 3,600 RPM for enhanced milling operations. Four-axis control enables simultaneous multi-directional cutting, maximizing productivity. The X, Y, and Z axes provide rapid traverse rates of 787 IPM with controlled travel ranges of 7.3, 3.9, and 26 inches respectively, ensuring efficient component positioning and cutting sequences. Advanced features include a C-axis for rotational indexing, chip conveyor for continuous debris management, and pressetting capabilities for optimized tool changeovers. Originally manufactured in Japan, this machine combines robust construction with user-friendly FANUC programming, making it ideal for production shops requiring flexible turning and milling in a compact footprint.
