The Tornos BA 1008 is an ultra-compact, high-precision horizontal bar milling center designed for efficient production work. Built on Swiss watchmaking technology foundations, this machine features multi-spindle architecture that delivers exceptional productivity in a compact footprint. The BA 1008 accommodates bar stock with a maximum diameter of 16mm and operates with up to 7 axes standard, expandable to 8 axes with optional configurations. The machine is equipped with up to 4 front spindles, 3 lateral spindles, and 2 back-operation spindles, all selectable at speeds of 12,000, 28,000, or 80,000 rpm depending on spindle type. It includes a sectioning tool for complete part completion. The standard Fanuc 0iMD numerical control system provides reliable operation with support for up to 4 simultaneous axes, featuring a 10.4-inch color LCD screen and Ethernet connectivity. Optional upgrades include the Fanuc 0iMF controller enabling dual-channel programming for enhanced productivity. The BA 1008 HP variant adds a high-pressure through-spindle cooling system (120 bar) for improved machining performance. The BA 1008 XT configuration expands capabilities with up to 8 spindles and two tool changers, providing maximum tool capacity of 23 tools. All variants feature fine filtration systems, replaceable transfer trays, and optimized chip and precious material recovery, making them ideal for precision manufacturing applications requiring flexibility and efficiency.
