Technical Description

The TOS Varnsdorf TOSTEC PRIMA Horizontal Machining Center is a robust 5-axis CNC machine designed for precision machining of large and heavy workpieces up to 22,000 lbs. It features a 39" x 39" table (optional 39" x 49") and offers extensive travel axes: X up to 63" (optional 78"), Y up to 39" (optional 51"), and Z up to 63" (optional 98"), all capable of rapid traverses at 1,181 ipm and max feed rates of 787 ipm. The horizontal spindle uses a CAT-50 taper (optional ISO-50) with a maximum speed of 5,000 RPM and a powerful 38 HP motor (30-minute rating), providing high torque and stability for heavy-duty cutting operations. Tool management is handled through a 40-station Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), expandable up to 120 tools, with a 20-second tool change time. Pallet automation options include up to 4 pallets, enabling flexible, high-throughput manufacturing setups. The machine’s rotary axes offer 110° travel on the A-axis and full 360° rotation on the B-axis, supporting complex 5-axis machining capabilities without the need for a U-axis. The structure is engineered for rigidity and vibration damping, ensuring high machining accuracy for prismatic parts and large components.
