A+Technical Description
The Toyoda FA800S is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center designed for high-accuracy, powerful machining of large and heavy workpieces. It features a 31.5" x 31.5" (800 mm x 800 mm) pallet size with a maximum workpiece weight capacity of 5,500 lbs (2,500 kg). The machine is equipped with a #50 taper horizontal spindle capable of 6,000 RPM as standard, with optional upgrades to a 15,000 RPM high-speed spindle and power ratings from 40 HP up to 60 HP. It supports up to 4 axes standard, with a 5th U axis optionally available, and includes a tool carousel automatic tool changer (ATC) holding 60 tools, expandable up to 384 tools. Tool change time is approximately 2 seconds per tool, with chip-to-chip time near 7.9 seconds. The machine travels 53.1" (X-axis), 45.2" (Y-axis), and 45.2" (Z-axis) with rapid feeds up to 944 inches per minute (24 m/min). A rotary B axis provides 360° rotation. The standard pallet changer system includes 2 pallets to optimize workflow. The robust cast iron column and bed, combined with precision box guideways, deliver rigidity and high-precision machining for complex geometries. The machine’s direct-drive or geared-head spindle options offer high torque output (up to 530 Nm), suitable for tough cutting conditions. CNC control is typically a FANUC 31i series, enhancing programmability and automation capabilities. This combination of speed, power, and flexibility makes the FA800S suitable for automotive, aerospace, and heavy equipment manufacturing.
