Technical Description
The Toyoda FH1250SX is a robust horizontal machining center designed for heavy-duty, precision machining of large workpieces up to 11,000 lbs. It features a large 49" × 49" table and a spacious travel envelope of 86.6" (X), 63" (Y), and 72.8" (Z), supported by a Meehanite cast iron base and cylindrical roller guides to enhance rigidity and accuracy. The machine employs a CAT50 spindle taper with a standard spindle speed of 6,000 RPM, upgradeable to 8,000 RPM or higher, powered by a 40 to 50 HP motor, delivering exceptional torque for a wide range of materials and cutting conditions. It integrates a 60-tool automatic tool changer (ATC), with options scaling up to 330 tools, and rapid tool change times of approximately 2.7 seconds, enabling efficient high-volume production. The FH1250SX includes a standard pallet changer with two pallets for uninterrupted machining workflow and supports 4-axis operation with optional 5-axis capabilities for complex geometries. Rapid traverse rates reach 1,654 ipm on all linear axes (X, Y, Z), facilitating high-speed material removal. The machine is controlled by advanced CNC systems such as Fanuc 31iA, featuring AI precision control and Renishaw probing for in-process inspection. Its robust design minimizes vibration and thermal deformation to maintain tight tolerances during prolonged high-load machining. Overall, the FH1250SX combines large work envelope capacity, high spindle power, flexible tooling, and advanced control technology for demanding aerospace, automotive, and heavy manufacturing applications.
