A+Technical Description
The Toyoda FH450S is a high-speed horizontal machining center engineered for precision and productivity in demanding manufacturing environments such as automotive and aerospace. It features a robust 17.7" x 17.7" dual-pallet table capable of supporting workpieces up to 880 lbs. The machining area offers generous axis travels of 23.62" along X, Y, and Z axes with a full 360° B-axis rotation, allowing complex multi-axis machining operations. The spindle is horizontally oriented with a CAT40 taper, delivering up to 15,000 RPM standard with an optional upgrade to 22,000 RPM, powered by a 30 HP motor rated for 30 minutes, optimizing performance in various materials. Equipped with a 60-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) as standard, the FH450S supports rapid tool changes in 1.3 seconds, minimizing cycle times, and can be optionally configured to accommodate up to 494 tools for extended production runs. The machine includes a standard pallet changer with two pallets, enhancing manufacturing efficiency via quick workpiece swapping. The FH450S’s high acceleration, rapid traverse rates nearing 1,969 ipm on all axes, and high feed rates of up to 1,968 ipm ensure fast and accurate machining cycles combined with excellent rigidity. This compact yet spacious horizontal machining center provides flexible configuration options, including a 4-axis standard setup with an optional 5-axis upgrade, designed to boost throughput, maintain tight tolerances, and reduce downtime in precision metalworking applications.
