A+Technical Description
The TRAUB TNL32P is a precision sliding headstock automatic lathe engineered for high-speed production of complex turned parts up to 1.260" diameter. This versatile machine features a single main spindle operating at 8,000 rpm with 10.70 HP, complemented by an auxiliary counter spindle at matching specifications and a 2.50 HP sub-spindle. The system accommodates up to 30 turning tools and 20 rotary tools on the upper turret, with an additional lower turret carrying 21 turning tools and 14 rotary tools, enabling simultaneous machining with three independent cutting tools. Rotary tooling operates at 12,000 rpm with 2.50 HP on both turrets, supporting milling, drilling, and specialized operations. The five-axis control system provides X-axis travel of 5.510", Y-axis travel of 2.560", and Z-axis travel of 12.010", all achieving rapid traverse rates of 787 ipm. Secondary mill and drill functions are standard, including on-center and off-center capabilities with C-axis and Y-axis functionality. The machine's modular design combines the flexibility of CNC technology with classic automation speed, reducing setup times and production costs for small to medium lot sizes. Thermal symmetric machining structure ensures exceptional precision and repeatability. With comprehensive tooling capacity and rapid tool positioning via NC-controlled turrets without mechanical locks, the TNL32P delivers measurable productivity gains for aerospace, medical device, and precision component manufacturing.
