Technical Description
The TRIMILL VFC3021 is a high-performance 5-axis vertical machining center designed for precision machining of press tools, molds, and dies. It features a robust U-shaped base constructed from ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), offering exceptional rigidity, vibration damping, and thermal stability without requiring a dedicated foundation. The machine has extensive travel capabilities with an X-axis of 118.11" (3,000 mm), Y-axis of 82.67" (2,100 mm), and Z-axis of 47.24" (1,200 mm), enabling it to handle large and complex workpieces. Its spindle utilizes an HSK-A100 taper with a top speed of 14,000 RPM, powered by a motor delivering up to 53.64 HP (S1/100%) and torque of 182.92 ft-lb, providing efficient cutting performance at feed rates up to 1,574 IPM. The rotary table/trunnion system supports a fifth axis with continuous degree indexing and axis swivel ranges of ±100° and rotary ranges of ±240°, each with clamping torque of 5.9 ft-lb, facilitating complex 5-axis machining in a single setup. The tool magazine holds 50 tools, managed via a chain-type changer to support productivity and versatility. Additional features include a stable thermosymmetric guiding system to prevent deformation, a large clamping surface measuring 127.95" by 88.58", 4 m/s² acceleration, 300 PSI coolant pressure, and efficient chip removal via a chip conveyor. The machine’s design emphasizes rigidity, thermal control, and ergonomic operation, achieving high accuracy and surface quality in both roughing and finishing applications for demanding manufacturing environments.
