Technical Description
The Trimill VU 3019 is a high-performance, 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for demanding applications in tool, mold, and die manufacturing. Featuring a robust box-in-box gantry design and ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) construction, the machine delivers exceptional rigidity, thermal stability, and vibration damping for superior accuracy and extended tool life. The stationary workpiece design, combined with a large 90.55" x 90.55" table, supports workpieces up to 66,000 lbs, making it ideal for heavy-duty machining. The machine is equipped with a standard rotary table for 5-sided machining, enabling complex geometries in a single setup. The vertical spindle utilizes an HSK-A100 taper (with HSK-A63 as an option), supporting high-speed operations up to 12,000 rpm (24,000 rpm optional) and a 30-minute power rating of 67 HP (57 HP optional). The automatic tool changer (ATC) accommodates up to 10 tools (expandable to 50), ensuring efficient tool management. Axis travels are 118.1" (X), 76.77" (Y, extendable to 82.67"), and 39.37" (Z), with a B-axis rotation of 200°, all achieving a maximum feed and rapid traverse rate of 1,181 ipm. The thermo-symmetric design and internal, quadruple-guided ram-type milling unit ensure consistent cutting performance and surface quality. The Trimill VU 3019 is controlled by a Heidenhain iTNC 530 CNC system (Siemens 840D optional), providing advanced programming and operational flexibility for high-productivity, high-precision machining environments.
