Technical Description

The Tsugami/Rem Sales MU38 is a 1.5-inch capacity CNC Swiss-type turning center engineered for complex part production in a single setup. This dual-spindle machine features a primary spindle with 5,000 RPM and 15 HP capability, paired with an equally powered secondary spindle, enabling simultaneous multi-axis machining. The sub-spindle operates at 5,000 RPM with 7.33 HP, facilitating complete part finishing including back-side operations. The machine accommodates bar stock up to 1.0-inch diameter with maximum turning lengths of 9.84 inches and turning diameters of 1.5 inches. Twin 8-station turrets provide flexible tool storage with capacity for rotary tooling, supported by a 5,400 RPM rotary tool spindle delivering 1.87 HP. Two simultaneous cutting tools enable balanced chip loads and efficient stock removal. The six-axis CNC control (expandable to seven axes) delivers rapid traverse rates of 787 IPM on X and Y axes and 787 IPM on Z-axis, with coordinated X, Y, and Z travel of 3.14, variable, and 11.22 inches respectively. Standard on-center mill/drill functionality with full C-axis capability allows precision milling and drilling operations. Optional Y-axis milling capability with off-center drilling further expands machining flexibility. The compact design conserves floor space while maintaining rigid square-way construction for superior accuracy and stability, making it ideal for producing intricate components efficiently.
