A+Technical Description
The Union P 150 Horizontal Machining Center is a high-precision CNC machine engineered for heavy-duty horizontal boring and milling applications. It features a large work table measuring 197" x 78", with an optional extension up to 236" x 98", supporting workpiece weights up to 999,999 lbs. The spindle is configured horizontally with a CAT #50 taper standard and an optional HSK 63 taper, capable of speeds up to 2,800 rpm standard or 3,000 rpm optionally. The spindle drive offers a robust 62 HP (30-minute rating) with an 80 HP option, providing powerful cutting performance. The machine supports from 4 to 6 axes (with U-axis optional), enabling complex machining operations. Axis travels include a 197" X axis (optionally 800"), 98" Y axis (optionally 157"), and 32" Z axis, all with maximum feed rates and rapid traverse speeds of 590 ipm. Rotary axes include an A axis with 110° travel and a B axis offering full 360° rotation, enhancing versatility for angular and multi-face machining. The tooling system includes an automatic tool changer (ATC) with 40 tools standard and an option for 80 tools, achieving fast tool changes in 2 seconds and chip-to-chip times of 15 seconds. The machine optionally supports rotary or index tables to accommodate complex workpiece positioning. Constructed for rigidity and precision, the Union P 150 excels in machining large, heavy components with tight tolerances, making it suitable for industries requiring heavy component precision machining such as aerospace, automotive, and energy sectors.
