Technical Description

The Union T 130 Horizontal Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC boring mill designed for precise machining of large workpieces up to 22,000 lbs. It features a robust table size of 63" x 49", with an optional expansion up to 78" x 63" to accommodate larger parts. The machine supports up to 5 axes, with an optional 6th and U axis, allowing complex multi-dimensional machining. The horizontal spindle utilizes a Cat #50 taper with a diameter of 130mm, delivering 80 HP at a top speed of 3,000 RPM, with an optional upgrade to 4,000 RPM and HSK 63 taper for enhanced tooling flexibility. The machine is equipped with a standard rotary table and offers optional indexing tables and pallet changers for increased automation. Tooling is managed through an optional automatic tool changer (ATC) supporting 40 tools standard, expandable to 120 tools, with fast tool change times of 2 seconds. Axis travels cover up to 78" in X and Y (optional 98"), 59" in Z (optional 78"), with rotational axes A (110°) and B (360°) for full contour machining. Rapid traverse rates reach 590 inches per minute with maximum feed rates of 236 inches per minute. The combination of a rigid box-type column, precision guideways, and high horsepower spindle enables heavy milling and boring operations with exceptional accuracy and stiffness, suitable for demanding large-scale manufacturing environments. Controls and tooling options allow customization for diverse machining tasks, making the Union T 130 a versatile solution for precision horizontal boring and milling applications.
