A+Technical Description
The FANUC 20-TA CNC control system is an industry-standard numerical control platform designed for precision lathe operations. This control features a 9-inch monochrome monitor with a 44-key keypad and provides dual-axis (X & Z) digital readout for accurate positioning. The system supports six primary CNC operation modes including MEM, EDIT, MDI, Machine Guidance, Manual Handwheel, and Reference Return, along with five auxiliary modes for enhanced operational flexibility. The FANUC 20-TA integrates Custom Macro B programming language for G-code development and enables background editing during program execution. It offers sophisticated turning capabilities including constant surface speed (CSS) control for both manual and automatic operations, conversational graphics programming, and diameter/radius programming options. The control system accommodates triple electronic handwheels with adjustable multiplier switches (0.0001", 0.001", and 0.01" increments) for precise manual and automatic operations performed simultaneously. Technical specifications include 16 tool geometry offsets with 16 tool wear offsets featuring tool nose radius compensation, backlash error compensation, and ballscrew pitch error compensation capabilities. The system provides three coordinate systems—machine, absolute, and relative—with program storage capacity for 63 part programs. Built-in RS-232 connectivity enables seamless loading and unloading of part programs and CNC data. The control features full CNC command of coolant and work light functions via M-codes, self-diagnostic capabilities with on-screen error messaging, and support for absolute and incremental programming in both inch and metric formats.
