This CNC lathe features a robust swing capacity of 70.39 inches and a machining length of 60 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of turning operations on large workpieces. It is equipped with a Fanuc 20-TA CNC control system, an industry-standard controller known for reliability and precision in industrial machining environments. The Fanuc 20-TA control provides a 9-inch monochrome monitor and a 44-key keypad for intuitive operation, supporting both diameter and radius programming as well as absolute and incremental modes. The control system allows for inch and metric input and display, catering to diverse manufacturing requirements. It features 2-axis (X and Z) digital readout, triple electronic handwheels for simultaneous manual and automatic turning, and a multiplier switch for precise handwheel sensitivity adjustment (0.0001”, 0.001”, and 0.01”). The CNC offers six operation modes—MEM, EDIT, MDI, Mchn Gdnce, Man/Hndwl, and Ref Return—along with five auxiliary modes including Dry Run, Single Block, and Optional Block Skip. Constant Surface Speed (CSS) control is standard for both manual and automatic operations, ensuring consistent cutting performance. The system supports background editing of G-code programs during execution (optional), and includes conversational graphics programming for simplified setup. Program storage allows for up to 63 part programs, and the control features backlash error compensation and ballscrew pitch error compensation for enhanced accuracy. The Fanuc 20-TA also provides full CNC control of coolant and work light functions via M-codes, and supports tool geometry and wear offsets with tool nose radius compensation. Built-in RS-232 port enables easy loading and unloading of part programs and CNC data.
