Technical Description

The Volvo SD75B Smooth Static Single-Drum Roller is a compact, high-performance soil compactor designed for efficient compaction of granular and cohesive soils in confined areas. It features a 66-inch (1,676 mm) wide smooth drum with a 48-inch (1,215 mm) diameter and a 1-inch (20 mm) thick shell, delivering consistent, uniform compaction across the full drum width. The machine is powered by a Volvo D3.8 Tier 4 Final turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine rated at 74.3 hp (55 kW), providing reliable performance with low emissions. Propulsion is hydrostatic, with an LSHT motor driving the drum and a heavy-duty axle with No-Spin differential for excellent traction and gradeability. The SD75B offers two speed ranges: low at 4.1 mph (6 km/h) for working speed and high at 7.7 mph (11 km/h) for transport, enhancing jobsite productivity. Vibration is controlled via high and low amplitude settings, with a nominal amplitude of 0.1 in (2.5 mm) in both modes and centrifugal forces up to 31,248.5 lbs (141.7 kN) at high amplitude. The articulated frame provides excellent maneuverability with an inside turning radius of 128 inches (3,251 mm), while the spring-applied, hydraulically released parking brake on both drum and axle ensures secure stops. Operating weight is 15,855.7 lbs (7,192 kg), with a shipping weight of 15,611 lbs (7,081 kg), and it runs on 14.9-24 R3 6PR TT tires.
