Technical Description

The Yasda YBM 10T-TH is a high-precision horizontal 5-axis machining center designed for large and heavy workpieces up to 11,000 lbs. It features a 39.37" x 39.37" table supporting workpieces up to 53.15" diameter by 59.06" length, with travels of 59.05" (X), 59.05" (Y), and 70.87" (Z), providing extensive machining envelope. The machine is equipped with a #50 taper horizontal spindle delivering up to 8,000 RPM and 30 HP (30-minute rating) with a coaxial spindle motor coupled for stable, accurate rotation. The 5-axis configuration includes ±100° A-axis tilting and full 360° B-axis rotary motion for complex geometry machining. Tool handling is managed by an automatic tool changer (ATC) with 60 tools standard capacity, expandable to 450, achieving fast tool changes with 7-second change time. Optional pallet changers support up to five pallets with two standard, facilitating efficient workpiece setup and changeover. Rapid traverse rates are up to 1,768 inches per minute on linear axes, enabling high-speed positioning driven by twin ball screws maintained for YASDA’s renowned accuracy (X,Y,Z positioning accuracy around 3 μm). The machine is built for heavy-duty cutting while maintaining thermal stability and rigidity, making it ideal for high-speed, high-precision machining of large die/mold components and heavy box-shaped workpieces. The YBM 10T-TH integrates advanced thermal distortion control and a robust structural design to sustain precision under demanding conditions.
