Technical Description
The YASDA YBM Vi40 Vertical Machining Center is a high-precision 5-axis CNC jig boring-milling machine engineered for complex die, mold, and component manufacturing in industries such as medical, aerospace, defense, and automotive. Featuring a symmetric bridge-type structure and single-piece high-grade cast iron construction, the Vi40 delivers exceptional rigidity and stability for heavy cuts and high-accuracy machining of hard materials. The machine offers X, Y, and Z-axis travels of 35.43 inches (900 mm), 19.68 inches (500 mm), and 17.71 inches (450 mm), respectively, with a maximum workpiece weight capacity of 440 lbs (200 kg). Its direct-drive spindle achieves speeds up to 24,000 RPM (with an optional 30,000 RPM), ensuring precision across the entire speed range. The Vi40 is equipped with a 60-tool automatic tool changer (expandable to 100 or 200 tools), a BT40 (or HSK-63A) spindle taper, and a Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC control system for advanced programming and operation. The B/C-axis tilting rotary table enables 5-sided machining in a single setup, supporting both simultaneous 5-axis and 3+2 or 4+1 axis operations. Advanced thermal distortion stabilization and high-speed interpolation control minimize thermal displacement, maintaining accuracy over long production runs. The Vi40 also features large-diameter ball screws, optical scale feedback, and a highly rigid feed drive system for superior surface finish and repeatability. With optimized operator access, integrated cooling systems, and a range of automation options, the YASDA YBM Vi40 is a reliable solution for demanding high-precision machining applications.
