Technical Description

The 2010 YCM NTV158B is a 3-axis traveling-column vertical machining center manufactured by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, offering the same T-base traveling-column platform as the NTV158A but configured with a larger BBT50 spindle taper for heavier cutting applications. The fixed-table, traveling-column design allows workpieces of any weight up to the table’s 4,409 lb capacity to remain stationary while the column traverses 60.2 inches of X-axis travel, ideal for long workpieces, heavy dies, and fixtures that cannot be accelerated without loss of accuracy. Y and Z travels are 30.0 and 27.6 inches respectively, over a 64.96 x 29.9 inch working table. The BBT50 spindle operates at up to 10,000 RPM standard with 22 kW (approximately 30 HP) continuous power, with a 30 kW, 15,000 RPM optional high-speed configuration using an HSK-A100 taper for aluminum contouring. A standard 24-station ATC expandable to 32 or 40 tools serves complex multi-operation programs. The T-base structural design provides full table support across the entire X stroke, maintaining straightness and eliminating the sag that can occur with unsupported table ends in conventional VMC designs. Rapid traverses of 1,181 IPM on X and Y and 945 IPM on Z deliver productive non-cutting speeds. The Fanuc control provides rigid tapping, DNC connectivity, helical interpolation, and full G-code and conversational programming capability.
