Technical Description

The BSA OMEGA 42 is a high-performance horizontal CNC turning center designed for versatile machining applications, featuring twin main spindles and an optional sub-spindle for enhanced productivity. Each main spindle delivers 20 HP with a maximum RPM of 6,000, supporting a maximum turning diameter of 12.440" and a turning length of 12.440", with a chuck diameter of 6.000" and a bar diameter capacity of 1.650". The sub-spindle provides 10.7 HP at 6,000 RPM, with a maximum turning diameter of 3.940". The machine offers a maximum swing of 14.960" and is equipped with dual turrets, each capable of holding up to 12 turning tools and 6 rotary tools, with rotary tool power up to 3.7 HP and 3,500 RPM. Simultaneous cutting with two tools is supported, and the system operates on a 4-axis configuration with optional expansion to 5 axes. Axis travel includes 8.860" (standard) or 10.430" (optional) on the X-axis, 12.600" on the Z-axis, and Y-axis movement for added flexibility. Maximum feed rates reach 394 ipm, with rapid traverse speeds up to 945 ipm on all axes. The OMEGA 42 is engineered for high precision, efficiency, and adaptability in demanding production environments.
