MAZAK HCN-5000/50 HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTER

The Mazak HCN-5000/50 is a compact, high-speed horizontal machining center engineered for high-volume production of large, heavy components and mid-size die-cast parts. This 4-axis machine features a robust work envelope with X and Y-axis travel of 28.74 inches and Z-axis travel of 31.5 inches, accommodating maximum workpieces of 800mm diameter by 1000mm height. Equipped with a BT50 spindle taper and maximum spindle speed of 10,000 RPM, the machine delivers 40 horsepower (29.8 kW) at 40% duty cycle with continuous rating of 30 kW and 216 N·m maximum torque. The machine operates through a Mazatrol Smooth G CNC control unit, providing advanced process-performance programming capabilities. It achieves rapid traverse rates of 60,000 mm/min across all axes with exceptional axis acceleration of 0.9G (X-Y) and 1.0G (Z), enabling high-speed, high-accuracy positioning that minimizes non-cutting time. The standard two-pallet changer system features a 19.69-inch pallet size with 10-second pallet change time and 700kg capacity. Tool management includes an automatic tool changer storing up to 120 tools with 3.5-second chip-to-chip change time and minimum 1° indexing at 1.4 seconds per 90°. The integral spindle/motor headstock design minimizes vibration and heat generation, delivering exceptional metal removal capabilities across steel and nonferrous materials with stability and precision for demanding production environments.
