Technical Description

The BURKHARDT+WEBER MCR 1000 is a high-capacity horizontal machining center featuring a robust table size of 39.370" x 49.210" capable of supporting workpieces up to 11,000 lbs. It is equipped with a horizontal spindle utilizing an HSK-A 100 taper, delivering a standard maximum spindle speed of 5,500 RPM with an optional upgrade to 10,000 RPM and a powerful 49.3 HP (30-minute rating) motor. The machine supports up to 120 tools in its automatic tool changer (ATC), with an optional expansion up to 570 tools, enabling extended unmanned operation. The tool change chip time is approximately 13 seconds. Pallet handling is optional, with up to two pallets standard and options for up to eight pallets, enhancing continuous production efficiency. The machining center operates with three axes standard, with a four-axis option available, and travel ranges of 86.610" (X axis, extendable to 94.490"), 49.210" (Y axis, extendable to 59.060"), and 49.210" (Z axis, extendable to 62.990"). The machine features rapid traverse rates up to 787 inches per minute across all axes, supporting high-speed positioning and efficient cycle times. The B-axis provides a full 360° rotation, enabling complex machining geometries. This combination of high load capacity, large work envelope, extensive tooling capacity, and flexible axis configuration makes the MCR 1000 suitable for heavy-duty, versatile manufacturing tasks in aerospace, automotive, and large component machining applications.
