The Caterpillar 16M Motor Grader is a heavy-duty machine designed for demanding grading applications in construction, mining, and road maintenance. Powered by a Cat C13 ACERT VHP engine, it delivers a net base power of 297 hp (221 kW) and features a robust 6-cylinder configuration with a displacement of 763 cu in. The engine is rated for high ambient temperatures and operates efficiently up to a derating altitude of 15,000 ft. The grader is equipped with an 8-speed forward and 6-speed reverse direct drive, power shift countershaft transmission, ensuring smooth shifting and optimal productivity. The hydraulic system is electro-hydraulic load sensing with a variable piston pump, providing a maximum system pressure of 3,500 psi and a pump output of 74 gpm.
