The Chiron Series 12 Vertical Machining Center is a highly productive, compact, and multifunctional CNC machining solution designed for precision manufacturing in demanding industries such as automotive, aerospace, and medical. It features a vertical traveling column design with a mineral cast bed, ensuring high rigidity and thermal stability. The machine supports two vertical main spindles with HSK 40 E taper as standard and an optional HSK 63 A taper, capable of speeds up to 24,000 RPM (15,000 RPM optional). An optional U-axis enhances machining flexibility. The tool management system includes a 128-tool automatic tool changer (ATC), expandable to 177 tools, with rapid tool change times of 0.90 seconds and chip-to-chip time of 2.40 seconds. Optional pallet changers support two pallets for increased efficiency in loading and unloading operations. The Series 12 offers three-axis movement with travels of approximately 21.65" in X, 15.75" in Y, and 15.75" in Z, combined with high rapid traverse rates for accelerated cycle times. Additional options include support index tables and rotary tables for versatile workpiece positioning. The machine employs motor spindles with water cooling for heat management, precision glass scales on all axes, and digital drive technology to deliver high acceleration and contour accuracy.
