The Clausing 13" Horizontal Machining Center is a robust, geared head engine lathe designed for precision turning and general-purpose machining. It features a single main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 8.250" and a maximum turning length of 40.000", supporting a 13.000" swing over the bed. The spindle delivers up to 2,500 RPM and is powered by a 3.0 HP motor, ensuring efficient performance across a wide range of materials and applications. The machine is equipped with a slide-type primary tool carrier, allowing for accurate tool positioning and support for one cutting tool at a time. With two controlled axes—X and Z—the lathe provides 7.500" of X-axis travel and 25.000" of Z-axis travel, extendable to 40.000" as an option. The geared head design offers 12 speed ranges from 40 to 2,500 RPM, enabling versatile machining capabilities for both light and heavy-duty tasks. The spindle bore measures 1.5", and the machine includes a D1-4 camlock spindle nose for secure workholding. A forced lubrication system ensures reliable operation by continuously lubricating spindle bearings, gears, and shafts. The lathe supports both inch and metric threading with a broad range of pitch options, and it is equipped with a coolant system for improved tool life and surface finish.
