Technical Description

The Clausing Ibarmia KM25/EV is a heavy-duty upright drill press with a 12.6-inch swing and a powerful 1.5 HP motor. It features electronic variable speed control, delivering spindle speeds from 300 to 4,800 RPM through an inverter-driven belt system, allowing infinitely variable speed adjustment for different drilling applications. Its maximum drilling capacities are 1 inch in mild steel and 1.18 inches in cast iron, with tapping capacities up to 0.71 inch in steel and 0.87 inch in cast iron. The spindle uses a 3 Morse Taper and has a quill diameter of 2.44 inches with 4.72 inches of spindle travel for deep drilling. The adjustable work table measures 10.6 by 11.8 inches with 1/2-inch T-slots, while the heavy cast iron base measures 22 by 15 inches for stability. Standard safety and operational features include an adjustable depth stop with a scale, manual spindle reversing switch, emergency stop button, a safety drill guard with microswitch, thermomagnetic motor breaker, and an automatic tool ejector. Optional accessories include floor cabinets, coolant systems, worklights, and an automatic spindle reversing system for tapping (in RS models). The machine is designed for bench mounting and operates on 230 or 460 volts three-phase power, weighing between 364 and 474 pounds depending on configuration. Overall, the KM25/EV combines precision, power, and safety in a versatile drill press suitable for industrial and shop environments.
