The C.R. Onsrud Inc. F98HM Hybrid Mill Series is a fully enclosed, 5-axis vertical machining center engineered for high-precision, high-speed production in demanding industries such as aerospace, defense, and automotive. Featuring a robust 60" x 96" table, the machine provides a large work envelope with X, Y, and Z travels of 122", 196", and 41" respectively, enabling the machining of sizable and complex parts. The vertical spindle utilizes an HSK 63F taper, supporting a maximum speed of 24,000 RPM and a 30-minute power rating of 15 HP, ensuring high torque and accuracy for nonferrous materials, composites, and advanced alloys. Tool management is handled by a 24-position automatic tool changer (ATC), facilitating efficient tool changes and continuous operation. The machine achieves rapid traverse rates of 4,200 ipm on all axes, with a maximum feed rate of 3,000 ipm, optimizing throughput and productivity. Designed for rigidity and accuracy, the F98HM incorporates internal perimeter walkways for easy material handling and an advanced chip management system for clean, efficient operation. Optional dual-process technology allows for independent, simultaneous programming on twin tables, maximizing flexibility and uptime.
