Technical Description
The Daewoo Puma 300LC is a long-bed, big-bore horizontal CNC turning center from the Daewoo Puma 300 series. The C designation denotes the big-bore spindle version, and the L designation denotes the long bed. The machine uses box way construction and a single spindle with an A2-11 spindle nose and a 4.5 in (114.3 mm) spindle bore for large bar and tube stock. Maximum spindle speed is 2,800 rpm. The swing over the bed is 22.4 in and the maximum turning diameter is 15.75 in. Machines built in the early 2000s were supplied with the FANUC 21i-T series CNC control, with rigid tapping, RS-232 or PCMCIA program transfer and a bar-feed interface. Typical equipment includes a 12 in three-jaw hydraulic chuck, a hydraulic programmable tailstock with an MT-4 quill, a tool presetter arm, a coolant system and a chip conveyor. The long bed and large spindle bore suit shaft work, pipe and tube ends, and large-diameter bar stock in general job-shop and production turning. Daewoo Heavy Industries built the Puma line in Changwon, South Korea; the machine tool business later became Doosan Infracore and is now DN Solutions.
