Technical Description

The Doosan PUMA GT2100B is a 2-axis horizontal CNC turning center from the PUMA GT series. Within the GT2100 range the B version takes a 10-inch chuck on an A2-8 spindle nose, in place of the 8-inch chuck and A2-6 nose of the standard GT2100. Swing over the bed is 600 mm (23.6 in), with 390 mm (15.4 in) over the saddle. Maximum turning diameter is 390 mm (15.4 in) and maximum turning length is 550 mm (21.7 in). Bar working capacity is 81 mm (3.2 in). The main spindle runs to 3,500 rpm with an A2-8 spindle nose and a 91 mm (3.6 in) through hole, driven by an 18.5/15 kW (24.8/20.1 hp, 15-minute/continuous) motor. Axis travels are 230 mm (9.1 in) in X and 580 mm (22.8 in) in Z, with rapid traverse of 24 m/min in X and 30 m/min in Z. The 10-station turret (12 stations optional) takes 25 x 25 mm OD tools and 40 mm boring bars and indexes in 0.15 seconds. The tailstock travels 580 mm with an 80 mm quill, 80 mm of quill travel and an MT#4 live center. The machine occupies 2,985 x 1,628 mm (117.5 x 64.1 in) with a height of 1,700 mm (66.9 in) and weighs 3,700 kg (8,157 lb).
