Technical Description
The Doosan PUMA GT2100MB is a two-axis-plus-C horizontal CNC turning center from the PUMA GT series, built for 10-inch chuck work with live tooling. The B designation marks the larger spindle version of the GT2100: an A2-8 spindle nose, 91 mm (3.6 in) spindle bore and 81 mm (3.2 in) bar capacity, with a maximum speed of 3,500 rpm. The main spindle motor is rated 18.5 kW (25 hp) for 15 minutes and 15 kW (20 hp) continuous, giving up to 401 N·m of torque. The M designation adds a C-axis with 0.001-degree indexing and a 12-station servo turret carrying rotary tools driven by a 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) motor at up to 5,000 rpm, so milling, drilling and tapping can be done in the same setup. Swing over bed is 600 mm (23.6 in); maximum turning diameter is 390 mm (15.4 in) and maximum turning length is 501 mm (19.7 in). Axis travels are 230 mm in X and 580 mm in Z, with rapid rates of 24 m/min (X) and 30 m/min (Z). The turret takes 25 mm square OD tools and 40 mm boring bars and indexes in 0.15 s. A tailstock with MT#4 quill and 580 mm travel is standard. Floor space is 2,985 x 1,628 mm with a height of 1,700 mm, and the machine weighs about 3,800 kg. The control is the Doosan-Fanuc i system.
