The DORRIES VCE 2800 Vertical Machining Center is a heavy-duty, high-capacity vertical turning lathe designed for machining large workpieces. It features a robust cast iron single-column construction optimized for vibration damping and rigidity, enabling precise and stable cutting operations. The machine accommodates a maximum swing diameter of 110.00" (2,800 mm) and a turning diameter of up to 98.40". The main spindle supports a turning length of up to 49.20" with a chuck diameter of 98.00". It delivers a maximum spindle speed of 250 RPM with an 80 HP motor, ensuring powerful machining capabilities for large-format turning tasks. This VMC includes a rotary tool system with 50 HP and up to 3,000 RPM for milling and drilling operations, supporting up to 200 tools for both turning and rotary applications, with the ability to simultaneously cut with one or optionally two tools. Its triaxial CNC control offers extensive travel ranges: X and Y axes each span 394" with a maximum feed rate of 708 IPM, while the Z axis travel is 25.00" standard, extendable to 108.00". The guiding systems are hydrostatic, contributing to high geometric precision and low vibration during high-force machining. The table supports workpieces up to 25,000 kg and can be customized with various clamping solutions including hydraulic or magnetic power chucks.
