A+Technical Description
The EX-CELL-O 408 Horizontal Machining Center (HMC), manufactured in 1980, is a robust boring mill built on solid box ways with rollers. It features a PC-based 5-axis control system (CamSoft on Windows XP), upgraded from the original 4-axis Dynapath System 5. Its travels include X, Y, and Z axes at 48 inches, 48 inches (extended), and 28 inches, respectively, complemented by full 360-degree A and B axes. The machine utilizes a 28 inch by 36 inch table and includes a 30-inch diameter rotary table for the A axis. Power is delivered by a 20 hp spindle motor capable of achieving 3,000 maximum RPM, and tool changes are managed via a 36-tool chain (Cat 50). The machine uses original Getty's servo motors and drives, with the A axis having a Siemens motor. Dimensions are 15 feet wide by 18 feet deep, with an approximate weight of 45,000 lbs, segmented into two main sections. The sale includes spare parts such as screws for the linear axes and a complete spare motor/spindle/gearbox/center carrier assembly.
