A+Technical Description
The EXCETEK VP500 is a high-precision wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) system engineered for ultra-fine cutting applications. This CNC-controlled machine delivers exceptional accuracy of ±2µm with a surface finish of Ra 0.15µm, making it ideal for industries requiring stringent dimensional tolerances. The machine features X, Y, and Z-axis travels of 850mm, 600mm, and 255mm respectively, accommodating workpieces up to 600kg. The VP500 incorporates a sophisticated five-axis control system managing X/Y/Z linear motion plus U/V taper axes, enabling complex geometries and angled cuts up to ±22° taper angles. A standout feature is the intelligent auto wire threading system with approximately 10-second threading time at break points, utilizing innovative wire annealing technology for near 100% reliability. The machine employs an intelligent ignition circuit that automatically adjusts cutting speed based on workpiece material and thickness, optimizing efficiency. Cutting productivity reaches up to 250mm²/minute with wire diameters ranging from 0.15-0.3mm. The chip disposal system efficiently removes chips through an integrated coolant tank and conveyor to external collection. The user-friendly Windows-based control interface features a 15" TFT screen with remote monitoring capabilities via internet or ethernet connectivity. Built on the reputation of founder Mr. Matsua's 40+ years of wire EDM design expertise, the VP500 represents one of the few machines worldwide offering 2000mm X-travel capability, delivering production efficiency and precision for demanding tooling and component manufacturing applications.
