A+Technical Description
The FERMAT FFC Horizontal Machining Center is a precision floor-type horizontal milling machine engineered for high-efficiency machining of large workpieces up to 20 metric tons. This machine features a robust working envelope with an X-axis travel of 118.1 inches, Y-axis travel of 39.4 inches, and Z-axis travel of 47.2 inches, accommodating a wide range of component sizes. The machine is equipped with a powerful spindle capable of achieving maximum speeds of 5,000 RPM and delivering 55.7 horsepower, enabling fast and productive cutting operations across multiple materials. Its stepless universal automatic milling head (UHAmil) allows machining at every angle, providing exceptional versatility for complex part geometries. The CNC control system, available with either Heidenhain or Siemens controls, ensures precise movement and repeatability across all axes through absolute linear scales and ball screw-driven linear guideways. The machine features a powerful ram assembly supported by 12 carriages along 4 linear guideways, delivering superior rigidity and accuracy. Standard tooling capacity includes automatic tool changers accommodating up to 100 tools, with optional robotic tool change systems supporting up to 189 tools. The FFC can be optionally equipped with an integrated CNC rotary table (2 RPM) or specialized turning table (100 RPM), expanding machining capabilities. Designed for rapid feed rates of 30,000 mm/min on X and Y axes, this machine optimizes production throughput while maintaining the precision required for intricate component manufacturing across aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications.
