The FFG MAG DVT 450 is a vertical pick-up turning center engineered for high-precision complete machining of medium-sized components. This dual-spindle system features two independent main spindles, each rated at 77.70 HP and 3,200 RPM, enabling simultaneous turning operations on both sides of a workpiece without repositioning, eliminating position loss during transfer. The machine accommodates workpieces up to 17.720" in turning diameter with a maximum swing of 18.900" and employs a 15" chuck for secure clamping. With a turning length of 13.780" and optional extended Z-axis travel capability, the DVT 450 handles diverse component sizes. The five-axis CNC configuration incorporates dual turret systems with combined capacity for twelve turning tools and twelve rotary tools, allowing two simultaneous cutting operations to maximize productivity and reduce cycle times. The machine delivers rapid traverse rates up to 1,260 IPM across all axes, with the X-axis offering travel ranges of 15.750" (expandable to 17.720") and the Z-axis providing 13.780" of travel. This compact design requires significantly less floor space than traditional two-machine setups with transfer stations, making it ideal for applications including railway components, transmission parts, turbine blades, and precision bearing housings.
