Technical Description

The FPT RED Horizontal Machining Center is a robust 4-axis CNC machine designed for heavy-duty horizontal milling and boring operations. It features a large worktable measuring 51.81" by 43.31", with an optional upgrade to 62.99" by 49.21", supporting maximum workpiece weights up to 8,000 lbs. The spindle is oriented horizontally with an ISO #50 taper, delivering up to 2,500 RPM and 50 HP (30-minute rating), suitable for a wide range of machining applications. Tool handling is managed by a single automatic tool changer (ATC), optimized for rapid tool changes with no chip time delay. The machine axes provide extensive travel capacity: X-axis up to 122.05" (optional 181.10"), Y-axis 78.74" (optional 98.43"), and Z-axis 59.06" (optional 78.74"), all with maximum feed rates of 197 ipm and rapid traverse up to 394 ipm. The B-axis offers full 360° rotation, enabling advanced multi-angle machining operations. This configuration allows high precision and versatility for complex parts requiring horizontal milling, drilling, and boring with large footprints and heavy components. The machine's architecture is tailored for industrial environments demanding high productivity, accuracy, and flexibility in horizontal machining tasks while maintaining ease of access for operators and optimized chip evacuation.
