Technical Description

The FPT Verus is a high-performance horizontal machining center engineered for large-part precision manufacturing. This 5-axis system features a horizontal spindle with HSK A63 taper (optional HSK A100) operating at 5,000 RPM standard (optional 7,000 RPM) and delivering 45 HP continuous power. The machine incorporates a patented monolithic column design integrating the longitudinal saddle, which reduces bending moments and inertia while eliminating the need for foundation pit installation. Standard travel ranges span 118.1" (X), 49.2" (Y), and 78.7" (Z), with extended options reaching 787.4", 59.0", and 98.5" respectively, all achieving rapid traverse rates of 1,378 IPM. The system accommodates 24 tools standard (80-tool capacity optional) via ISO carriers and supports optional rotary and index tables for enhanced workholding flexibility. Equipped with Heidenhain TNC 530/530I CNC control, the Verus combines traveling-column flexibility with rigid frame accuracy, enabling efficient machining of complex geometries and large components. Its lowered profile morphology and optimized structural geometry significantly reduce deflection during heavy machining operations, ensuring superior surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Optional U-axis capability provides additional machining versatility. Maximum table load capacity reaches 15,000 kg, accommodating substantial workpieces. This machine is purpose-built for aerospace, tooling, and heavy industrial applications demanding precision, stability, and extended work envelope capabilities.
