Technical Description

This CNC vertical machining center features a robust work table measuring 112" long by 30" wide, capable of supporting workpieces up to 5,500 lbs, with optional support for indexing or rotary tables for enhanced versatility. The vertical spindle accepts CAT40 taper holders standard, with an optional upgrade to CAT50 taper for increased rigidity, suitable for heavy-duty machining. The spindle operates at a maximum speed of 8,500 RPM (optionally 12,000 RPM), delivering 20 HP continuous for 30 minutes, upgradeable to 30 HP for more demanding cuts. A 24-station twin-arm automatic tool changer (ATC) ensures rapid tool swaps with a 3-second tool change time, complemented by an optional two-pallet changer for extended unmanned operation. The machine operates on a 3-axis system—X, Y, and Z—with standard travels of 100", 35", and 30" respectively (Z-axis travel extendable to 34"). Feed rates and rapid traverses reach up to 400 inches per minute on all axes, enabling efficient production cycles. The CAT40 and CAT50 taper design conforms to the ASME B5.50 standard, providing a secure tool retention with excellent balance between rigidity and speed, ideal for precision milling and heavy cutting applications.
